We will guide you through the process of replacing a rim, a tire, and an inner tube on an off-road wheel. These components are essential for maintaining the performance and safety of your board.

Why Replace a Tire, a Rim or an Inner Tube?

  • Tire wear: Tires wear out over time and this can become dangerous.
  • Defective inner tube: A damaged inner tube can cause punctures.
  • Damaged rim: A damaged rim can affect the stability of your board.

Necessary tools

  • New rim, tire and/or inner tube
  • Clé Allen 1/8 (provided with your Y-Tool when you receive your board)

Steps to Replace the Rim, Tire, and Inner Tube

1. Preparation

Deflate the inner tube

Remove all air from the inner tube to facilitate removal.

Remove the screws from the rim

Use the Allen key to remove the six screws that hold the two halves of the rim together. Keep the wheel flat on a table to prevent the nuts from falling out.

2. Separation of the Rim

Separate the halves of the rim: Separate the two halves while keeping the wheel on the table. Set aside the upper half, leaving the screws in the holes.

Release the lower half: Push to release the tire from the lower half of the rim.

3. Replacement of the Tire and Inner Tube

Remove the inner tube: If the inner tube is still in good condition, you can reuse it. Otherwise, replace it with a new one.

Install the new tire: Put a little air in the new inner tube to give it shape (easier to fit it properly into the tire), then place it in the new tire. Make sure the inner tube does not protrude from the tire to avoid pinching during rim reassembly and causing a puncture.

4. Reassembly of the Rim

Align the valve: Align the valve of the inner tube with the notch in the rim.

Assemble the rim halves: Place the upper half of the rim by aligning the notch with the valve. Drop the screws so they fall into the holes on the other side of the rim.

Star tightening: Tighten the screws in a star pattern to ensure even fastening. Check that the nuts do not protrude and are well tightened.

5. Tire Inflation

Inflate to 3 bars: Inflate the tire to 3 bars to achieve the best range and performance.

By following these steps, you can easily replace the rim, tire, and inner tube of your electric skateboard on an off-road wheel.

This process ensures that your board remains in excellent condition and performs at its best.
