Data sheet updated in November 2026
The Cabrinha Vision XL 2027 is Cabrinha's light wind wingfoil wing, in 6.5 and 7.5 m², for those days when every knot counts. It uses the Vision platform with profiles dedicated to light wind, slightly fuller tips, and revised canopy tension: more power in the low end, earlier planing, and a wing that remains easy to handle when the wind picks up. Teijin D2 canopy, rigid boom, rigid front handle, and TruView window.
KEY INFORMATION
CABRINHA VISION XL 2027 - Large Wingfoil Wing for Light Wind
What we like
- Low-end power: Specific light wind profiles and fuller tips deliver more power and drive when the wind is just right.
- Earlier planing: Cabrinha designed it to get you on the foil sooner and keep you flying through lulls.
- High dihedral: The more pronounced dihedral and swept tips keep the tips out of the water on take-off, a real concern on a large wing.
- Very low wind range: According to Cabrinha, the 7.5 m² covers 5 to 17 knots, and the 6.5 m² covers 8 to 20 knots.
- Rigid boom: A unique rigid boom, angled non-rotating Keylock attachments, and a rigid front handle let you ride with the wing sheeted out.
- TruView: The mesh panel opens up your view downwind, which is even more useful on a wing of this size.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Designed for Marginal Days
Cabrinha makes it clear: the Vision XL was born from those marginal wind days. It's for riders who live in low-wind spots, especially in flat water, and for anyone who wants to maximize their time on the water with a dedicated wing. Cabrinha recommends it for beginner to advanced riders.
Dedicated Profiles
With specific aerodynamic profiles, slightly fuller tips, and optimized canopy tension, the goal is maximum low-end power and early planing. The result: you get on the foil earlier, you fly through lulls, and the wing remains easy to handle when the wind picks up.
Vision XL or Vision?
While both share a lot, the XL's profiles generate more power and drive in threshold wind. It focuses less on the top end of the wind range, and its canopy tension has been reworked for a very clean canopy. If your spot also experiences strong wind days, the Vision 2026 up to 5.5 m² remains the most versatile; the XL complements it at the lower end.
Why Not a Large Mantis?
Cabrinha explains that the Mantis's flatter dihedral limits its performance in larger sizes, which is why it doesn't come in 6.5 or 7.5 m². The Vision XL's more pronounced dihedral reduces the risk of catching a tip and improves visibility, two important points for a wing of this size.
Construction
The canopy is made of Japanese-made Teijin D2 double ripstop, which is light and resistant to tears, UV, and abrasion. It features Teijin 75 trailing edge panels and a radial cut. The three-section hybrid Leading Edge uses 160 g/m² in the center and 140 g/m² at the tips. The center section is doubled.
Handling
A unique rigid boom is attached by angled Keylock fasteners that eliminate any rotation. The drop strut improves ergonomics and hand placement, and the rigid front handle allows precise steering of the wing when it is depowered. Single-point inflation is handled via the Airframe valve.

FAQ - CABRINHA VISION XL 2027
The Cabrinha Vision XL 2027 is for riders who frequently hit the water in light wind, especially on flat water spots, and need a kite specifically designed for those marginal days. Cabrinha states it's suitable for beginner to advanced riders.
The Cabrinha Vision XL 2027 features specific light wind profiles, fuller tips, and revised canopy tension. This combination delivers more power and drive in threshold wind conditions. It is less focused on the upper wind range.
The size guide provides the wind range for each size, according to Cabrinha. They don't specify a reference rider weight for this kite, but your weight, board, and foil are all crucial factors in light wind conditions.
The Cabrinha Vision XL 2027 offers power very early. This allows for an early take-off on the foil. Its large dihedral keeps the tips out of the water, and the rigid boom provides direct control.
Always inflate your kite on a clean surface. After your session, dry it in the shade and never store it wet. For a kite of this size, avoid letting it flap in the wind and sun on the beach.
You'll need a pump, a kite leash, a wingfoil board, and a foil. The boom, roll-top bag, and repair kit are included.
