FAQ - ION VECTOR VEST CORE FRONT ZIP
Is this a life jacket?
No. This vest offers impact protection but is not a life jacket. It does not provide sufficient lift to keep an unconscious rider afloat.
Is it compatible with a harness?
Yes. The lower part is intentionally thin to fit comfortably under a kitesurf or wing harness. For maximum comfort, we recommend a waist harness over a seat harness.
What's the difference from the Collision Vest?
The Collision Vest is ION's mid-range model. It offers more comprehensive protection and premium materials. The Vector Vest Core is the entry-level option. It's more accessible, provides reliable protection, and is ideal for beginners or for regular sessions.
How do I care for this vest?
Rinse it after every saltwater session. Dry it in the shade before storing, and avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can degrade the neoprene.
Which size should I choose?
Choose your size based on your chest measurement. The vest should be snug without restricting your breathing. If you're between two sizes, opt for the larger one for more freedom of movement.
Can it be used for wing foil?
Yes, it's perfectly suited for wing foil. The fitted cut and thin lower part won't interfere with wearing a wing harness. It provides good protection for foil sessions, where high-speed falls are more frequent.
